In- Service Clinic & BBQ Announced
Memo from Bill Crisafulli
We have a great
Mustang Referee In-Service Clinic and annual Referee BBQ planned for
Saturday, July 19, at Diablo Vista Park at MTV field.
Prior to the clinic,
from 7-9am, there will be a Fun Run for those referees who would like to
complete the USSF Fitness Test and take the written exam for maintaining
or upgrading their referee grade. Please arrive promptly at 7am if you
would like to take part in the fun run.
From 9am - noon, we
will conduct the clinic. The topics for this year’s clinic include
bench and technical area control, how to recognize and appropriately
deal with dissent from players, coaches, and spectators, and how you can
use your own personal style and personality to improve your ability to
manage the player’s attitudes and actions on the field of play. We will
have some very experienced instructors and it should be a great learning
experience for all.
At noon we will break
for hamburgers and hot dogs and other BBQ treats. We have some great
door prizes to give out and there will be lots of familiar faces to chat
with and new referees to meet.
Following the clinic,
at 12:30p there is a men’s U21 men scheduled at MTV. All participants
are welcome to stay and watch the game and extend the fun.
I hope all Mustang
Referees can all make it!

I have updated the Assessment Request form for 2008. Please note that referees are NOT to send payment for the assessment with the request form. There were a number of instances last year in which the checks bounced because they were more than 90 days old when deposited. This is a particular problem when I start receiving assessment requests in June and July and the assessment isn't completed and sent to Mr. Alvarez until October or November. Thanks - Bill Updated Request Form -

The following awards were presented at the CYSA Soccer Expo by FIFA Referee Kari Seitz and CYSA-N State Youth Referee Administrator Tom Starr:
District III Female Youth Referee of the Year – Sunny Lekov
District III Male Youth Referee of the Year – Stephen Crisafulli
Mustang continues its tradition of producing excellent youth referees. This is a testament to all of our referees who provide mentoring and coaching to help our youth develop the skills needed to succeed as a referee, as well as the players, coaches, and parents who (usually!) provide a supportive environment in which they can develop their skills. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to work with our youth referees, and congratulations to Sunny and Stephen!

2008 Referee License Registration
Don't let your registration expire!
Memo from Bill Crisafulli
This is a quick note to remind all referees that in order to officiate soccer games in 2008, you will need a 2008 badge (or at least have submitted your renewal and paid your registration fee). If you do not keep your registration current, you may have to retake the Grade 8 class! And, be reminded that Grade 7 and below have special submission procedures, (see registration.html ). Grade 8 referees should follow the instructions on the registration packet you received from the USSF. If you do not have a packet, go to
http://www.cnra.net/renew/renew_register.htm . - Bill |
