Mustang Soccer has partnered with Diablos Futsal in Concord to provide Futsal curriculum and training for Mustang Soccer players and coaches.

Diablos Futsal coach Henrique Pereira will be working with Mustang directors and coaches to provide a Futsal training program twice a year at the Mustang Soccer Complex and prepare Mustang Soccer Elite players for participation in the United Futsal Champions Cup Series (https://www.unitedfutsal.com/ccs). Mustang Soccer is one of 36 soccer clubs nationally that participates in this regional, national, and international Futsal competition series. Training programs at Mustang will happen in May/June and December/January each year. 

Diablos Futsal will soon be forming Futsal teams with Mustang Soccer's assistance in order to participate in the U8, U10, U12 and U14 boys and girls age groups for United Futsal CCS competitions, nationally and internationally. Regional competitions happen in the spring each year. Nationals and Internationals happen every July and August. Diablos Futsal will also provide a winter league opportunity for Mustang teams to play between November and February every year.

Born in Brazil, Ricardo Da Silva is the Founder/CEO of East Bay Diablos Futsal Club and the Founder/President of the Diablo Valley Futsal League. Since 2002, his youth and adult teams have won several championships in State, Regional, and National Futsal competitions. 

Da Silva, who grew up playing Futsal and relocated to the United States in 1997, introduced Futsal to the Bay Area as coach of his son's team in 1999. He played for MACSA in the Men's Open Division and won the 2001 US Futsal National Championship. In 2014, Da Silva created an adult Futsal group with weekly games which has grown to more than 1,300 members. He also participated in a 2015 Futsal internship with former Brazilian Futsal National Team Coach, Prof. Fernando Ferretti, back in his home country of Brazil. After this internship, Da Silva formed a semi-pro Futsal team that participated in the first futsal pro-league in the Bay Area (NAPFL) during 2016 and 2017. The Diablos won the NAPFL Championship in 2016.

Futsal is played on a hard court, smaller than a soccer pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side soccer. Futsal teams have five players each, including a goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted.
